Great meeting with the Architect, AOST and MACTAC yesterday!

As it turned out, it was not only a design meeting but an educational session as well. The Architect learned about the unique training requirements of Law Enforcement, and we learned a lot about Architectural Design.

The design of this facility is critical and needs to take into account both existing and anticipated training standards, Local, State and Federal court decisions and of course the high expectations of the Las Vegas community.

Keep following us! It’s going to be a great project!

As part of our research, we made contact with the Portland Oregon Police Department (PPD). They have a true professionally run, state of the art facility with dedicated areas for Defensive Tactics, Indoor Shooting Ranges, Patrol Vehicle Operations and an Indoor Scenario Village. What a great place!

I would like to extend special thanks to the staff for an outstanding visit! Spending time with their architect and observing ‘training in progress’ provided an in-depth understanding of their operations and capabilities that highlighted why they are a go-to destination for Law Enforcement training.

Just had a meeting with the Engineers about the Range 6 upgrade. Paperwork for the project is on track to be completed by the end of June, so if all goes well construction will begin shortly after that.

The scope of this project is to lengthen the range to 100 yards, upgrade the berm, add concrete walkways, and cover the base with gravel.

We recently met with the Fort Worth Advance Training Unit- what a great group of Officers!

They opened their doors to us and gave an awesome tour of their training facility. It’s apparent that a lot of thought and planning went into it, which is good because they are really busy there!

It’s really enjoyable to visit a facility of this caliber- we’ll be tapping many of their designs, safety practices and facility ideas as we move into the planning stage of ours.

Thanks!

Great day yesterday! We met the Architect for the first time. Went over the big picture and started to set up initial priorities, too bad it was blowing so hard, or we would have spent some more time on site.
