Social Security is more than a monthly check, it’s a promise Americans earn through a lifetime of work. While some claim benefits aren’t being cut, staffing reductions, office closures, and new barriers to service make it harder for seniors, people with disabilities, and families to access the benefits they’ve earned. While working families are worried about the costs of groceries, housing, and health care, a federal judge has temporarily blocked a controversial $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund created to compensate individuals claiming they were targeted by the government. The court will now review whether taxpayers should be footing the bill. Nevadans want an economy that lowers costs, raises, wages, and invests in working people, not political slush funds.

The fund has generated a fierce backlash since it was announced last week, with even Republicans pressing acting Attorney General Todd Blanche over the eligibility considerations.
