Black Music Month is also Nevada history. Long before the Strip opened its doors to everyone, legendary artists like Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Pearl Bailey, Louis Armstrong, and Harry Belafonte found community in Las Vegas’ Historic Westside. Their music helped shape American culture, and their fight for dignity helped shape Nevada.

Pride Month is a celebration of courage, community, and the ongoing fight for equality. This month, we honor the contributions of the LGBTQ+ Nevadans who help strengthen our communities, economy, and democracy every day. Everyone deserves the freedom to live authentically, be treated with dignity, and have a fair shot at opportunity. Happy Pride Month.

Social Security is more than a monthly check, it’s a promise Americans earn through a lifetime of work. While some claim benefits aren’t being cut, staffing reductions, office closures, and new barriers to service make it harder for seniors, people with disabilities, and families to access the benefits they’ve earned. Protecting Social Security means protecting both the benefits and the ability to receive benefits when people need them most.

In the course of his presidential campaign, Donald Trump had a lot to say about Social Security. And that makes sense, since it’s a big issue for current and future retirees alike. One thing Trump specifically pledged to do was not make cuts to Social Security. He also said he did not want current...

The fight for fair representation is also a fight for economic power. Who represents you influences everything from access to affordable housing and health care to workforce investments, infrastructure projects, and economic opportunity. When communities lose representation, they risk losing their voice in decisions that impact their future. Political power creates economic power. That’s why fair maps and fair representation matter.

The new map has five of the state’s six House districts as GOP-leaning.

While working families are worried about the costs of groceries, housing, and health care, a federal judge has temporarily blocked a controversial $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund created to compensate individuals claiming they were targeted by the government. The court will now review whether taxpayers should be footing the bill. Nevadans want an economy that lowers costs, raises, wages, and invests in working people, not political slush funds.

The fund has generated a fierce backlash since it was announced last week, with even Republicans pressing acting Attorney General Todd Blanche over the eligibility considerations.

The right to vote is the foundation of our democracy. Efforts to create new barriers to vote, limit vote-by-mail, or centralized control over voter rolls risk making it harder for eligible Americans to have their voices heard. We will continue fighting to protect free, fair, and accessible elections because when more people participate, our democracy is stronger and our communities are better represented. .

A federal judge is declining to halt President Donald Trump’s executive order seeking to create a national list of eligible voters and limit mail voting

Affordable housing is not just an urban issue. Families in rural Nevada feel the squeeze too.

Proud to join Nevada Rural Housing, local leaders, and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of the Pioche Apartments — bringing safe, stable, and affordable housing to Lincoln County.

These new homes will help seniors age with dignity, give working families more stability, and expand access to housing for residents with disabilities.

This is what delivering for every corner of Nevada’s Fourth Congressional District looks like. Lower costs. More opportunities. Real results for all communities.

Powerful conversation yesterday on voting rights and representation. Thanks to Blake Paradis of the , Senator Dina Neal, Khalil Thompson from , and for this important discussion.

Special thanks to , , and .fromjerz for bringing these conversations to digital audiences and communities across the country.
From South Carolina to Nevada, the fight for fair representation impacts real people, families, and real economic opportunity. Voting rights are economic rights. Representation matters. And our communities deserve to be heard.

Voting rights are not just about politics. They’re about power, representation, and economic opportunity. I hosted a conversation this week about what's happening across this country, from attacks on fair representation and redistricting to the real economic consequences communities face when their voices are weakened or ignored.

When communities have a seat at the table, families have a better shot at opportunity, investment, and building a future.

Watch the full town hall below.

Voting rights are about power, representation, and whether communities have a real seat at the table.
What we are witnessing across the South should concern every American.
Maps are manipulated to weaken political representation and economic power. Communities fought and bled for these rights.
We cannot afford to be silent while they are systematically dismantled.
Power does not come from outrage. It comes from organizing.
