Gallinas Volunteer Fire Dept. We are a San Miguel County Volunteer Fire Department that serves the citizens and community of San Miguel County. We meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.

Our primary objective is to prevent and control emergency fire and rescue situations throughout our fire district. Our district covers outside the City Limits of Las Vegas, NM and expands east to the Village of Trujillo on State Highway 104; North to the Village of Watrous on Interstate-25 and to the village of Sapello on State Highway 518, as well as up Gallinas Canyon, 5 miles before the Village

of Gallinas, via State Road 65; we also cover several miles South of Las Vegas, NM via Interstate-25, and assist several other surrounding San Miguel County Volunteer Fire Districts. We are always looking for individuals, who would like to help serve their community, to volunteer and become part of the exciting and honorable “brotherhood/sisterhood” that is Firefighting. Feel free to come by our station and see what being a Firefighter is all about.

The City of Las Vegas Fire Department in cooperation with multiple agencies throughout the state will be bringing our brother Engineer Frank Lovato back home to Las Vegas tomorrow from Albuquerque. The procession will be leaving Albuquerque at 11:30 and arriving back in Las Vegas approximately around 2:30 PM down Grand Avenue to Mills. We will keep the public updated with information as we receive it. Also, we remind everyone to please respect the family's request for time to mourn and to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
