According to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation’s April 2026 economic report, compared to March 2026, Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.3%, and the labor force decreased by 3,475. The seasonally adjusted total number of nonfarm jobs in Nevada was 1,610,800, representing an increase of 1.9% over the past year and an increase of 2,900 jobs since March 2026.
“April’s report continues the trend we have seen through the last several months. We again see high job growth, which is likely to remain among the fastest in the nation when data for all states is released on Friday. And we still see both a labor force participation rate and an unemployment rate higher than the national average, with a higher level of job search helping to sustain our higher levels of job growth overall,” said David Schmidt, Chief Economist.
Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) Employment (Seasonally Adjusted):
o Las Vegas employment increased by 300 jobs (less than 0.1%) since March, and an increase of 20,900 jobs (1.8%) since April 2025.
