School Counselors:
I would like to take just a moment and introduce Youth In Action (YIA) to you. Youth In Action is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt organization. Youth In Action is operated in Las Vegas, Nevada by a governing board consisting of members of the community, leaders of community organizations and youth elected by their peers.
We are involved in community service projects such as feeding the homeless, covering graffiti, visiting the elderly in convalescent homes, just to name a few. Our latest project was teaming up with YudaBands. Our youth raised funds in order to cover the costs associated with the education of a child in a 3rd world country for one (1) year.
Youth In Action understands the important role that school counselors have in the lives of our youth. Many times being the first and only source for a child in need. The youth have started a “Youth In Action Closet” and have donated clothing in order to assist those in need. If you know any youth that are in need of clothing, please email YIA at: [email protected] with sizes, gender and age of the youth in need. A member of the YIA staff will deliver the clothing to you at your school so that you can assist those children.
Our Mission:
Providing the tools, resources and experience to the leaders of tomorrow in order to enhance the livelihood of the members of the community in which they reside, in the world that they live in; by giving their time, talents and visions for a prosperous life for all.
Our Vision:
Our vision is a community where youth are empowered to create positive change and the community offers the assistance to our youth to make a difference.
I look forward to hearing from you and working with you in order to enhance the livelihood of our youth. Please provide this information to any other school personnel or entity that you may have a relationship with that would be able to also assist the youth of our community.
Thank you,
Betty Luna
