Today, we mourn the loss of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Austin Abdelnabi, who gave his life in the line of duty while protecting our community.

Officer Abdelnabi answered the call to serve with courage and selflessness. His sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers face every day in defense of our families, our neighborhoods, and our way of life.

The Clark County Republican Party extends our deepest condolences to Officer Abdelnabi's family, his fellow officers, and the entire Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Please join us in keeping all who knew and loved him in your prayers, and in honoring his memory by never forgetting the sacrifice he made in service to our community.

Rest in peace, Officer Austin Abdelnabi. We will never forget your service.

As we approach the 2026 elections, 100 days is an early milestone and reminder that election day is approaching.

In this period, you will hear lots of one-way communication from candidates, PACs and political parties attempting to either make the best case for supported candidates or throw shade on opposing candidates. But the best communication is two-sided. Ask questions of the candidates, as to what they support and why. To the extent that the answers give you pause, state your concerns. A candidate may not agree with you on every issue, but you can make a decision of who best or more closely aligns with a positive direction for our country, state, county, or local municipalities.

Finally, now is a good time to reiterate your resolve to cast a ballot, and perhaps to discuss that resolve with your friends and neighbors. Sometimes, voting may not feel like it makes a difference, but your vote counts the same as anyone else's, and your opinion should be heard.
