Bureau of Land Management - Las Cruces District 5.4 Million Acres of Possibilities
Organ Mountains, Prehistoric Trackways, Three Rivers Petroglyphs

Welcome to southwestern New Mexico, where public lands offer an amazing diversity of outdoor recreation opportunities. The BLM's Las Cruces District Office manages 5.4 million acres of public land and over 10 million acres of Federal mineral estate from the western side of the Guadalupe Mountains to the Arizona border, and from Sierra County and the southern edge of the Gila National Forest to the

Mexican border. These public lands include majestic, scenic mountain ranges jutting from the desert floor, and towering over the surrounding desert. The confluence of the Chihuahuan desert, Rocky Mountains, great plains, Sonoran desert, and Sierra Madre make the area the most biologically and recreationally diverse region of New Mexico. OUR MISSION:
The Bureau of Land Management's mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. OUR VISION:
To enhance the quality of life for all citizens through the balanced stewardship of America's public lands and resources. OUR VALUES:
To serve with honesty, integrity, accountability, respect, courage, and commitment to make a difference. OUR CUIDING PRINCIPLES:
To improve the health and productivity of the land to support the BLM multiple-use mission. To cultivate community-based conservation, citizen-centered stewardship, and partnership through consultation, cooperation, and communication. To respect, value, and support our employees, giving them resources and opportunities to succeed. To pursue excellence in business practices, improve accountability to our stakeholders, and deliver better service to our customers. BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT SOCIAL MEDIA COMMENTING POLICY:

This coming Sunday, June 14th is Flag Day and it is a Fee Free Day across your public lands. On fee-free days, a waiver applies to recreation standard amenity and day-use fees on BLM lands, including visitor centers, picnic/day use areas and National Conservation Lands units. Expanded amenity fees and other fees (i.e., group day-use, developed camping, cabin rentals, and individual special recreation permits for the use of special areas) remain in effect. Fees for overnight camping at Aguirre Spring Campground and Three Rivers Petroglyph Site still apply. Come and experience your public lands!

June is Great Outdoors Month⛰️

First designated in 2019, the month aims to promote outdoor recreation (kind of our thing) & increase awareness of natural resources.

In NM alone we manage 13.5M acres of public lands where you can hike, fish, camp, bike, boat, hunt & more!

Where will you go?

As our trail guides take off to adventures here and there or simply take a well-earned summer siesta, we will not be offering guided hikes, bike rides, or patio chats for the month of June. We encourage everyone to take this time to enjoy listening to some of nature's own programming in the peaceful moments outdoors.
