Spaceport America

10/06/2026

Happy World Space Week (Oct. 4-10, 2026) to those who celebrate 🚀

This year's theme is the Rocket Revolution, recognizing how increased space access and falling launch prices have stimulated the space ecosystem. At Spaceport America, tenants and customers such as UPAerospace and Exos Aerospace have launched numerous suborbital research missions through the years.

We were looking forward to celebrating 20 years of Spaceport America with you today.

Unfortunately, this week’s unusually severe storms across New Mexico caused flooding that temporarily made roads leading to Spaceport America inaccessible. This was an exceptional weather event, and these conditions are not typical for access to the spaceport. The storm’s impact made it impossible to safely welcome our community for today’s Open House.

While we’re disappointed that we couldn’t celebrate this milestone together, the safety of our visitors, staff, partners and neighbors will always come first.

Thank you to everyone who planned to join us, supported this year’s event and continues to be part of the Spaceport America story. Although we weren’t able to celebrate our 20th anniversary together, we’re already looking forward to our 21st and another opportunity to open our gates and welcome you back.

We can’t wait to see you next year! 🚀

共に星の彼方へ 🚀

We were honored this week to host representatives from JAXA(宇宙航空研究開発機構) as they continue to study the future development of a spaceport in Tanegashima ✨

Community, state, and industry leaders from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, Virgin Galactic, New Mexico State University NMSU Physical Science Laboratory, the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA), the New Mexico Economic Development Department and City of Las Cruces Mayor Eric Enriquez linked up to illustrate the connections which strengthen the ongoing development and ex*****on of large-scale projects like Spaceport America.

As the space industry continues to grow, we're proud to create international connections which aid our global partners in their business development ventures.

What we do on the ground is just as important as what our tenants and customers are able to do in space 🚀

Summit Construction teamed with the Associated General Contractors of America and AGC New Mexico chapter to welcome Representative Gail Armstrong and Rep. Alan Martinez for a legislative jobsite tour and industry briefing ✨

While at site, the legislators saw the progress of our STARC building, learned about how it will serve the spaceport, and how construction continues to be a strong economic driver for the state of New Mexico.
