Flu season is creeping up, but we’re ready to scare it away! Join us for Boo the Flu 2026 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center or Three Crosses Regional Hospital for a fun community event focused on staying healthy this season.

We're teaming up with the New Mexico Department of Health to provide flu vaccines at a Boo to the Flu event on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to noon (or while supplies last).

Drive-thru flu shots will be offered for adults and children six months and up at the MountainView Medical Plaza, east of the main hospital, at 4351 E. Lohman Ave. Follow the signs and MountainView personnel for instructions.

Fire Academy 40 is building their knowledge and skills through advanced fire suppression, fire detection and smoke control systems, fire and life safety initiatives, vehicle rescue and extrication, and assisting specialized rescue teams.

These aren’t just classes: they’re skills, knowledge, and experiences that demand focus, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

The road isn’t easy. The standard is high. And every day brings us one step closer to being ready when our communities need us most.

The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department, along with City Park Rangers, is closing La Llorona Park immediately due to rising water levels from the Rio Grande.

Recent rain and runoff have caused water levels to increase, creating potentially dangerous and life-threatening conditions in and around the park.

Please stay out of La Llorona Park until further notice and do not attempt to enter or cross areas affected by rising or floodwater.

The park is expected to remain closed through Wednesday, September 30, and will be assessed for safety before reopening.

Please avoid rising water and flooded areas. Turn around—don’t risk your safety.
