These services can help prevent unnecessary suffering and, importantly, help families keep their beloved pets rather than surrendering them because of financial hardship.

There’s something truly special about the bond between a senior and a pet.🐾 Both have so much love to give—and sometimes, all they need is a second chance to find each other. 🐶🐱🏡

DACHS is proud to offer the Pets for Seniors Program, helping to make pet adoption more accessible for senior members of our community. Through the program, eligible seniors can receive a $25 adoption discount when adopting from the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley (ASCMV).

A pet can bring joy, purpose, and plenty of unconditional love. 💕🐾
Sometimes the best friendships come with paws and wet nose kisses. 🥰

If you’re a senior looking for a furry companion, stop by ASCMV and see if your perfect match is waiting for you!

Meet Arlo! 💙 This sweet pup recently received support through DACHS’ Ruff to Ready Program, where he worked with trainer Hope to address fear biting and challenges with leash handling.

For dogs who are struggling with fear or anxiety, everyday experiences like putting on a leash or being handled can feel overwhelming. With patience, understanding, and the right training, dogs like Arlo can learn that they are safe—and that they can trust the people helping them. 🐶❤️

Ruff to Ready provides free basic behavior training for recently adopted shelter dogs, helping families better understand their new companions and giving dogs the tools they need to succeed in their forever homes.

Arlo’s story is a reminder that sometimes, a little guidance can make a BIG difference. 🐾 Because every dog deserves the chance to feel safe, build confidence, and find their forever home. 🏡💙

Meet sweet Bubba! 🐱♥️🐾

Thanks to a Vaccination Voucher through DACHS’ Animal Relief Fund (ARF), Bubba was able to receive an important vaccination to help keep him healthy, protected, and happy.

For families facing financial challenges, the cost of routine veterinary care can sometimes feel out of reach. That’s where ARF steps in—helping pets like Bubba get the care they need while helping keep them safe, healthy, and in their loving homes. 🏡❤️🐾

Every voucher means one more pet gets a chance at a healthier future. Together, we can make sure financial hardship doesn’t stand between pets and the care they deserve.
