Today we recognize International Firefighters' Day - a day to honor the men and women who choose to step forward to serve their neighbors, community, and each other in times of need. Thank you. Thank you for your dedication, your long hours, missed holidays, extra training, and hard work. And thank you to our families who support our team and make this work possible.

Today is also for the memory of firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty, making the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of others. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

Believe it or not, despite all the rain, our area is at high fire danger 🔥 Dry grass and a little wind can turn a small fire into a big problem, fast. Please use caution when burning.
As much as we like seeing you, an out-of-hand brush fire is not the way to do it! 🚒

Chief Mathison's service is scheduled for 11:30 this morning. Afterward, a procession of emergency services vehicles will accompany him on a route past the stations where he served during his 30 years in the fire service.
