Meet Elaina Hernandez and Brad Little, two dedicated Correctional sharing their journeys and experiences in the field. Elaina, a six-month , initially joined to get back on her feet, but quickly found a long-term career with excellent pay, benefits, and a supportive environment. With the State of Kansas helping her tackle school debt, she’s committed to staying. Brad, who’s been with the facility for nearly ten months, found the job through a friend and was impressed by the quick process and the camaraderie among the team.
Both officers rave about the comprehensive training they received, from classroom sessions filled with humor to hands-on experiences at the shooting range and on-the-job training (OJT). Brad’s background in college coaching uniquely prepared him for this role, where he now thrives in the dynamic adult corrections environment. Elaina, initially hesitant to work in a prison, has grown into a confident, tougher version of herself, thanks to the support and guidance from her colleagues.
Whether it’s the satisfaction of helping others or the thrill of mastering new skills, Elaina and Brad have found their place in corrections—a job that’s more than just work; it’s a fulfilling with endless for growth.
