With the recent rains, we've seen an uptick in Cuban treefrogs and cane toads. Both invasive frogs present their own issues. Cuban treefrogs are not only a nuisance with their loud calls, keeping you up at night, but they can outcompete our native treefrogs. Cane toads are well known for their serious threat to dogs. These massive toads secret a toxin that can kill your pets if action isn't taken immediately. UF recommends that these invasive frogs are humanely euthanized to ensure the safety or our pets and native ecosystems. Learn more about both species in Lara's podcast episodes:

📣 Tampa Bay Residents, from Citrus to Sarasota County, we want to hear from YOU! 📣

Flooding impacts many areas across our region. We are asking community members to share their real-life experiences through a regional flood survey.

Your feedback will help the us and the lead team for the Tampa Bay Coastal Master Plan (TBCMP) better understand chronic flooding and where it’s happening across Tampa Bay 🌧️

Your responses will also be used to develop community-drawn flood maps and help prioritize nature-based projects that reduce flood risk, such as living shorelines, wetlands, and other resilient solutions.

📝 Take the Survey before June 10! https://www.partimap.eu/en/p/TBCMP-Flood-Survey/0

Every response helps paint a clearer picture of flooding across the region. Please share with your neighbors and community!

A good reminder of a key theme I teach in my Florida Waters Stewardship Program..."Everything goes somewhere".

As our summer rains start, so too does stormwater management. Stormwater is considered one of the leading causes of water pollution in the country. The good news is there's a lot we can do to help! Be sure to join us in June as we embark on Stormwater Stewardship Month: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/stormwater-stewardship-month-programs-4244893?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=creatorshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=odclsxcollection&utm-source=cp&aff=escb

🤷‍♀️Wondering what to do with your extra free time on this upcoming long weekend?? Join us for a class on Florida Native Plants!! 🌿🌱

Special guest, Davis Byrkit (from Wilcox Nursery) will discuss the tried-and-true native plants that form the bedrock of an attractive , low maintenance landscape. As the interest in native plants grows, a palette of native plants has emerged as the ‘native replacement’ for common exotic plants; these native plants will be highlighted in this presentation. Additionally, Davis will be discussing some up-and-coming ‘natives’ that have been successfully used in landscapes and are increasing in availability.

Join us to learn about native plants in Central Florida!
