Home is more than just a place to live, it’s where families build stability, connection, and community. Over the past five years, DHCD has invested more than $21.7 million in home preservation and rehabilitation programs, helping residents preserve the homes they love and stay connected to the communities, schools, and jobs they rely on every day. 🏡

Using the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) financing tool, DHCD was able to preserve 288 units along the Purple Line at Plaza Towers in Hyattsville with a $3 million ROFR Loan and a 30-year term County tax deferral in the form of a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT). The ROFR Loan and PILOT will maintain the apartment units as affordable and stabilize rent growth for at least 30 years. 📈
