"Valentine's Day is a special time of accepting and giving gifts"

The County’s Ethics Code prohibits employees and officials from soliciting or accepting gifts that give the appearance of, or are intended to, impair their impartiality and independent judgment.

However, employees and officials may give and receive gifts from other employees and officials (including gifts to and from superiors) for special occasions, such as, holidays, birthdays, baby showers, and special occasions.

Remember, all gifts over $20 must be reported on your financial disclosure statement if you are a designated filer.
