🚨 Laredo Bridge System Traffic Advisory🚨

⚠️The Laredo Bridge System is actively monitoring river conditions along the Rio Grande. To ensure the safety of the traveling public and our bridge personnel, temporary traffic suspensions may be implemented as large floating debris including buoys, tree trunks, and other objects passes beneath the international bridges.⚠️

❗️The following operations will be temporarily suspended during the passage of this debris:❗️

• Commercial traffic at the World Trade Bridge

These temporary closures will only be in effect during the passage of large debris and will be lifted as soon as it is safe to resume operations.

The Laredo Bridge System continues to work closely with the City of Laredo, the National Weather Service, and our local, state, and federal partners to monitor conditions and maintain safe bridge operations.

The inaugural Port Laredo Global Trade Summit 2026' was a success! 🌎

Over the past two days, leaders from the United States and Mexico came together to:

The City of Laredo Bridge Department is proud to announce that the World Trade Bridge Expansion Project has been awarded a $25 million BUILD Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

This transformational investment will help expand capacity at the World Trade Bridge, improve the flow of commercial traffic, strengthen cross-border trade, and enhance the movement of goods through the nation's #1 Inland Port.

Director Elsa Hinojosa emphasizes as the leading gateway for U.S.-Mexico trade, the World Trade Bridge plays a critical role in supporting our local economy, regional growth, and the North American supply chain. This grant represents another significant step toward building the infrastructure needed to meet the demands of the future.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our federal, state, local, and industry partners whose collaboration and commitment helped make this achievement possible. Together, we are investing in a stronger, more efficient, and more connected future for Laredo and the millions of businesses and families that depend on this vital trade corridor.
