Notaries have been forewarned. The Supreme Court has suspended a notary public from the practice of law for one year after he notarized a document despite the absence of the person executing it. Not having the principal present without proper identification in front of a Notary Public is considered fraud. Please refrain from asking me or any notary to sign a document without the signer present. My answer will be no.
