Great job by our members following a busy week of emergency responses. This past Tuesday, our crews responded to two separate structure fires within our district on the same day. Incidents like these underscore the ongoing need for increased staffing within our department.

The second fire occurred in a residence and the responding crew was staffed with only three firefighters. As always, our members relied on their training and professionalism to successfully manage the incident and achieve a positive outcome. We are proud of the work they performed under challenging circumstances however the reality remains that there are far too many days when only three firefighters are on duty to protect our village and its residents.

While our members consistently rises to the occasion, ensuring adequate staffing is essential to maintaining the level of service and protection that this community deserves.

We are officially less than a week away from the 11th annual Light Up Larchmont, brought to you by the Larchmont Professional Firefighters Association and the Larchmont Police Benevolent Association! Come join us on Saturday December 6th from 3pm-6pm at 120 Larchmont Avenue!

Rain or shine, this year’s event will take place both indoor and outdoors with all your favorite activities from years past. Come by and enjoy pictures with Santa along with plenty of other activities and entertainment including music throughout the night provided by Noo Moves Entertainment and of course our annual tree lighting at 5:30pm.

As always, we will provide Hot Chocolate, Candy canes, munchkin donuts and other treats throughout the event.

Keep an eye out for Santa Claus as he takes a holiday stroll through Larchmont’s business district on his way to the firehouse this year!!

We look forward to seeing everyone there to start the Holiday season off with a bang! Make sure to dress warm!

The month of October is national fire prevention month. Your professional firefighters all month long are educating the community on the importance of fire safety! Pictured here is a class we were happy to have come visit us at the firehouse and learn all about fire safety from one of our certified Fire and Life safety educators.
