Great News Laramie; Plastic Food Tubs are Now Recyclable!
You’ve always been able to recycle plastic in the shape of a bottle, jar, and jug. Now you can recycle plastic tubs too! By tubs, we mean containers for yogurt, sour cream, butter, soups, and similar items.
Flimsy plastics like clamshells (berry containers), trays, and plastic bags are still unrecyclable in the blue-lidded cart.
So let’s recycle paper, cans, cardboard, and plastics numbered 1, 2, 4, and 5 in the shape of a bottle, jar, jug, and tub. For more information go to www.cityoflaramie.org/solidwaste or call (307) 721-5279. Also don’t forget to download the free app, “Laramie Waste & Recycling”.

We have received some questions about recycling plastic bags in Laramie. 😄

One option is to return plastic bags to the recycling containers at the front of both Walmart and Safeway in town. This service is free of charge and can be done your next time grocery shopping.

Additionally, if you are able, we encourage using reusable bags instead of plastic. As well, plastic bags can be repurposed as doggy bags, trash bags, and storage bags.
