***EDITED***

Rainfall will continue to become more widespread tonight into Sunday. The bulk of the rainfall will occur east of the I-25 corridor with some snowfall developing over the Pine Ridge along the northern Nebraska panhandle late tonight and Sunday. Snowfall amounts will generally range from 2 to 4 inches across this area with highest amounts in the higher elevations. Snowfall can also be expected over the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range with 4 to 7 inches are possible. Rainfall will most likely turn to Snow on Saturday night, but little if any additional accumulation is expected except in elevations above 8000ft near the I-80 summit where to 2 to 5 inches is possible. The rain and snow chances will diminish on Monday with a slight warmup expected.

We are happy to assist our partner agencies during emergencies like this. This incident highlights why fire alarms are essential tools for saving lives and preventing serious property damage or loss.

The city of Laramie Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at 786 Wyoming Highway 230.

6AM 3/27 - While we are getting a taste of early summer today, the calendar still says March, and the weather will look more like it this weekend. Two rounds of precipitation are expected: first mainly rain showers Friday night, followed by another round of rain mixing with and changing over to snow Saturday night into Sunday. Snow accumulation, if any, is still uncertain so be sure to check back in with us in the coming days.

03/22/2025

Widespread strong winds are expected today across the area, with gusts of 50 to 70 MPH peaking in the afternoon and early evening hours. In addition, expect scattered afternoon showers to develop as a strong cold front moves through. Rain showers switching to snow showers may bring a few rumbles of thunder and gusty/erratic winds.

The strong winds may also lead to higher fire danger today, so outdoor burning is not recommended in areas without snow cover.
