The Laramie City Council and Albany County Commission are hosting a joint work session to discuss how a potential 50% property tax cut would impact services we all depend on:

• Hospital and ambulances
• Schools and colleges
• Law enforcement and firefighters
• Libraries
• Sewer and water
• W**d and pest
• Roads and bridges

📣 Better Wyoming, partners, and our hardworking volunteers invite community members from across Albany County to not only learn about, but have a voice in, the future of Maternal Healthcare in Wyoming.

We'll explore what's causing our state's Maternal Health deserts and possible solutions for our Wyoming lawmakers to consider as they shape policy. Come by from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Laramie Plains Civic Center's Ballroom!

Whether you're brand new to our organization or a seasoned pro, there's a place for you at the table. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved in positive community change, learn the basics of grassroots organizing, and become a leader. Here's what each chapter is doing in September. 👇

🇺🇸 Laramie County - We'll talk about the Wyoming primary election results, who won and who lost, and then chat about what our next steps will be.

🗣 Natrona/Converse County - We'll recap the Primary Election, take a look at what we’ve accomplished in getting out the vote in our community, and discuss what comes next! We’ll also provide an update on the "Vote No" campaign and upcoming efforts toward the general election.

✍ Albany County - We'll work together to build a local strategy around the upcoming general election and legislative interim session to advocate for our key issues: funding our communities and public schools, and Wyomingites' access to maternal healthcare.

🗳 Campbell/Sheridan Counties - We'll talk about how to protect our public schools and other vital community services in the November General Election amid the proposed slashing of property taxes, and plan for the 2027 legislative session.

📣 Johnson County - Better Wyoming's field organizer will be speaking about the valuable community services that will be defunded if Wyoming votes to slash property taxes this November. *Event details subject to change.*

The Freedom Caucus' Achilles' heel is that they don't support policies policies that the people of Wyoming actually want.

The 2026 primary election saw the second highest voter turnout in Wyoming history. 🗳

When people are informed and engaged, we get better governance. Wyoming is not a Freedom Caucus state. Yesterday's election proved that. 👏

📍Polls are open all across the state from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Reminders: you can register in person at the same time you vote and don't forget to bring your ID.

When most people think about elections, they think about the President, Congress, or maybe the Governor. But most of the decisions that impact your life happen much closer to home.

"Down ballot" races, like state legislators, school board, city councilors, and county commissioners will determine the future of our healthcare, education, public lands, housing, and lots more.
