🔥 Update on the Murphy Canyon Fire 🔥

📸Photo taken by Todd Hohnholt.
This afternoon, members of LPFZ responded to Murphy Canyon Fire alongside local and federal resources. Firefighters, hand crews, and air support have been working hard to slow the fire's progress. Tiny Walker shared "Helicopters and ground crews doing very good on Murphy canyon fire. Some of LPFZ has gone home. Some are still there. Two hand crews have gotten there doing as good as can. The next couple of days will be a challenge. We have another bigger fire. Over west of black mountain. In Morrison Park folks and air are working on that one also. And another one North of Douglas. Busy day for firefighters. Thank and bless them all.".

🥰Thank you to all the firefighters, dispatchers, aviation, and all other support working these incidents! The next couple days may end up being challenging, but we are thankful for the dedication of all involved.

Please keep them all in your thoughts! We'll try to keep you updated.

🇺🇸

Some gave all. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, while the grills are going, the lakes are full, and the long weekend ensues, remember the reason for the day. Freedom has never been free.

At the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, we recognize the courage of the men and women who answered the call to serve and never returned home. Their sacrifice lives on in the communities they protected, the families they loved, and the freedoms we often take for granted.

Today, we wear the badge with gratitude, fly the flag with pride, and remember the fallen with respect. 🇺🇸
