IDOC LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility

IDOC LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility LaPorte Juvenile is the only girls juvenile DOC facility in the state. Students have been adjudicated by a judge and sentenced to the Department of Correction.

We have many programs to assist in criminogenic needs to help students when they leave.

More huge happenings at LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility to start the spring. We had several youth start planting flowers and getting our garden beds ready to plant. The youth were able to w**d the garden beds and plant several different flowers in the facility. A huge shout out to Mark’s Farm Market And Greenhouse for donating the plants and flowers to be planted. The youth really enjoyed working with the flowers and plants.

To culminate our corrections week Warden Dixson participated in the state golf outing as LaPorte Juvenile sponsored a hole during the golf outing and we held a pie in the face raffle. A big shout out to Sgt. Whitehouse as he received the pie in the face and Ofc. S. Warner for winning the bid to throw the pie. All participants had fun during our week. All proceeds went to the CPAFI Fund. Thank you to everyone who participated.

On Tuesday May 19, 2026, our Education Department held a graduation for 2 of our youth. The ceremony was held in the school library as staff, youth and parents were able to attend. A huge congratulations to the two youth graduating as this was a very big achievement for them.

More staff fun!! On Friday 5/8/26, we concluded Corrections week with a staff carry in luncheon. There was lots of great food and talking as the staff enjoyed the delicious food brought in. Staff were able to enjoy all the food which culminated our Corrections week.

The Happenings at LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility on Friday 5/8/26. Today we had Ms. Pam Butler and Ms. Madeline Ward return to the facility to facilitate the Fiber Arts workshop. The youth were able to make and design their own cloth with many different stamps and will put them together with other projects they created. All the youth really enjoyed designing and creating their art work.

This week was Corrections week for DOC staff throughout the state. Monday staff were served omelets for breakfast. Tuesday we had an ice cream social for all staff as well and staff wore their favorite band shirts Wednesday. On Thursday staff dressed for the decade they were born and finally on Friday we had a carry in luncheon for all staff. We also raffled off 3 different baskets with many great prizes in them. During the week staff really enjoyed all the festivities. Great having a team that enjoys working together and being able to support one another.

Today, LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility welcomed Pam Butler and Madeline Ward from the University of Notre Dame. They were to facilitate a Fiber Arts program for our youth. The young ladies really enjoyed completing the flower project with Pam and Madeline.

Today, two LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility employees were recognized for employees of the quarter. Ashli Hale was our non-custody employee of the quarter and Mariah Clemons was our custody employee of the quarter. These two staff were nominated by their peers for their hard work and dedication to the jobs that they do.
