Madison County Builders Association has donated two picnic tables for the parks! These tables were built last year by the Class of 2029 and stained this year by the Class of 2030 during their annual Build Your Future Trades Day event at Pendleton Heights Middle School. This event is fully funded and organized by the Madison County Builders Association and brings together over 90 volunteers to teach trades skills to 350 7th grade students. Next year, they’re excited to welcome Lapel’s 7th graders, which will grow participation to more than 450 students!

We can't thank them enough for everything they're doing for our communities.

When completing the Comprehensive Plan in 2021 we heard from many residents that they wanted more nature trails for our park systems. We heard you and we're excited to announce the Brookside Park Restoration Project.

A stipulation of the grant received for Brookside Park prohibits construction of buildings in this area. What better way to expand the park than to add a walking trail through native grasses and wildflowers? This project will also add substantial ecological lift to the area’s pollinators as well as improved habitat and water quality in the Stony Creek watershed.

The project will take place in three phases. Phase 1 funding has been obtained through the Bright Futures Grant from the South Madison Community Foundation and a gift from The Olivia Cascadden Funds gifted from the Town of Lapel.
