Lapeer County Emergency Medical Services (LCEMS) was created in 1997 through the merging of three local ambulance agencies, Lapeer Area Ambulance Service, North Branch Area Ambulance Service, and the Imlay City Department of Public Safety. The service is now governed by a seven member Board of Directors with representatives appointed by the fifteen municipalities within Lapeer County. Lapeer Coun

ty EMS provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport and is a member of the Mobile Health Resource, LLC, a network of ambulance companies created to provide medically-related transportation services on a regional and statewide basis for healthcare plans, health systems and other large purchasers in Michigan. Lapeer County EMS also offers education services for any community members, group or organization interested in CPR, First Aid or use of the Automated External Defibrillators (AED), as well as to those individuals wishing to make EMS a career. Many of our current employees have started or advanced their training with our education services. Lapeer County EMS employees are trained at all levels of licensure and hold State of Michigan licenses at the Medical First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Emergency Medical Technician-Specialist, and Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic. We also have on staff several State of Michigan licensed Instructor Coordinators. All EMS personnel are CPR certified in the American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider course and are updated on a yearly basis. In addition, all Paramedics are certified in the American Heart Association Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS) course.

This past Tuesday, LCEMS had the pleasure of teaching Hands-Only CPR skills to local high school students as part of CFI's Adulting Day.

This event is designed to provide students with practical life skills that they have identified as important to their future success. We are honored to have participated in this valuable program for several years and appreciate the opportunity to help prepare the next generation.

By teaching Hands-Only CPR, we are empowering students with the knowledge and confidence to act during a cardiac emergency. Every person trained strengthens our community's ability to respond when seconds matter, helping to create a safer and more resilient Lapeer County for everyone.

Thank you to CFI for continuing to invest in the education and preparedness of our local youth. We look forward to being part of this impactful event for years to come.

During National EMS Week, we at Lapeer County EMS want to extend our sincere appreciation to our non-transporting Medical First Responder and EMT partner agencies throughout Lapeer County.

Many of these dedicated men and women are volunteers who selflessly devote their personal time, energy, and commitment to training for and responding to time-sensitive medical emergencies within the communities they proudly serve. Whether arriving first on scene, providing lifesaving interventions, assisting with patient care, or supporting our crews during critical incidents, their role in the emergency response system is invaluable.

These partner agencies are a critical component of successful patient outcomes and help create stronger, more resilient communities across our county. Their professionalism, teamwork, and willingness to serve make a lasting difference every single day.

To our local fire departments and first responder organizations β€” thank you for your partnership, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to the people of Lapeer County.

We are proud to serve beside you.
