Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post #200 The Lapeer County, MI explorer program is for young adults ages 14-21 interested in law enforcement careers.

Applicants should submit letters of interest to: [email protected] Law Enforcement Exploring is the preeminent career orientation and experience program for young people contemplating a career in the field of criminal justice. Its mission is to offer young adults, ages 14-21, interested in a career in law enforcement a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences and other activities. Law Enforcement Explorer Posts are sponsored by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the country. Law Enforcement Exploring is endorsed by numerous professional organizations, to include the International Chiefs of Police Association (IACP) and the National Sheriffs Association (NSA). Law Enforcement Exploring is a well-established and highly respected program that has served as a platform from which countless young adults have launched a successful career with local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Academy Day 7: Test and inspection day! This is what the explorers have worked so hard for this entire week. Explorers take a written test covering information from each of their classes at the academy. They then have barracks and platoon inspections. The day is finished with the advanced explorers participating in nighttime scenarios.

Academy Day 6: Advanced explorers attended a mock trial at Eaton County Courthouse and testified to a scenario they wrote reports on earlier in the week. Explorers ended the day with the academy PT competition. More hard work but also more fun today as explorers look forward to Friday’s inspection and graduation on Saturday.

Academy Day 2! It was a beautiful day for arguably the hardest day of academy. Lots of PT and time with drill staff. Lapeer explorers had PT time and went to fi****ms orientation class. The advanced platoon worked on folding flags and then emergency vehicle operation!
