Looks like the entire parking area behind the downtown businesses is open for parking. The only entrances currently open are from Mason Street and Court Street and the road surface there is still being worked on so drive with caution.

Please also follow any signage and barriers as the contractor is still working on the area.

The City's DPW department are working to resolve two major water main breaks at Saginaw and Union and Pine and Union. Saginaw Street will likely be closed to traffic both ways between Fair St and Pine Street for some time this evening while crews work to resolve the break.
Pine Street remains passable for motor vehicle traffic but will be wet for awhile as staff focus on the higher traffic Saginaw road.
Please find alternative routes until tomorrow if you can.

No water advisory at this time (2:45pm)

This weekend's Sunday June 21st is a big day, it's the Summer Solstice, longest day of the year and the official start of Summer....even if it doesn't feel like it.

It's also Father's Day, so be sure to celebrate all the dads, fathers, grandfather's, fathers to be and father figures in your life.

Also, check out the downtown picnic and America 250 celebration the day before on June 20th in downtown Lapeer.

Our Summer Concert Series continues tomorrow June 18th with music from Pete Folco. Pete is a terrific guitar player and story teller who plays a combination of classic rock, country, and folk music.

The concert starts at 6:30pm. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a great afternoon in Historic Downtown Lapeer!

Please note, that in the event of rain, the concert will take place at Gallery 194.

A happy parking lot construction update:
Parking space striping has now begun in the municipal parking lot north of Nepessing Street, marking another major milestone toward reopening the lot.
While we anticipate the lot opening soon, please note that portions may still be temporarily closed as crews complete work on lighting, dumpster enclosures, green spaces, pedestrian crossings, and other finishing details.

We appreciate your continued patience as these projects move toward completion. The progress over the past several weeks has been significant, and we look forward to restoring additional parking and access as work wraps up.

Downtown businesses are open and ready to welcome you!
