Kenneth Darga for Congress Ken Darga is a moderate Democrat running for Congress in Michigan's 8th District (Ingham, Livingston, and northern Oakland Counties). We have two adult sons.

My approach is to develop solutions to America's problems that address the concerns of liberals and conservatives at the same time. Moderates are in a good position to develop workable compromises and policies that reflect the needs of all Americans, not just special interest groups. I am an economist with two Master's degrees from the University of Michigan in Social Policy and Administration and

Economics (majoring in Economic Demography with a minor in Econometrics). I have 35 years of public policy experience and spent the last 22 years as Michigan's State Demographer. I've authored two books on the census and have served for the past seven years on the national steering committee of the Federal-State Cooperative for Population Estimates. I grew up in Birmingham, attended high school in Detroit, and live in Lansing with my wife of 28 years.
