I've heard you loud and clear: property tax is one of the biggest issues families and seniors are struggling with in Michigan.

My HELP UP (Hall Effectively Lowering Property taxes & Utility Payments) plan will help make life more affordable and keep more money in your pocket.

Under my plan, Michigan families will save more than $1,400 every year on your property taxes and electric bills. This is a strong solution to a big problem.

Our budget cuts funding for Michigan State University’s illegal alien welfare scams. We will not support cash handouts for illegal aliens with no strings attached and no verification.

Fraudulent schemes like that take money out of our pocket and literally pay illegal aliens to come to Michigan and live off our taxpayers. There is too much waste, fraud, and abuse in the budget, and I’m going to get rid of it.

We’re also tightening enforcement to crack down on Medicaid fraud and make sure benefits aren’t being misused. Dead people on the rolls, lottery winners cashing in, out of state schemes. It’s happening right now, and it's all wrong.

Taxpayer money should only go to the people who actually need our help, and my plan would make that the law.

Michigan is 38th in energy affordability. 38th.

We have the natural resources. We have power plants being unfairly shut down. What we don’t have right now is a strategy
focused on keeping costs down for families and small businesses. That’s not right.

Previous policy decisions are driving up our monthly bills. Failed “green energy” mandates, rate hike after rate hike, and
reliable power plants put out of commission. It makes no sense, and Michigan families pay the price.

My HELP UP (Hall Effectively Lowering Property taxes & Utility Payments) plan puts a stop to it. It will completely wipe
out the last three years of rate hikes (saving families about $500/year) and get us back to what matters: RELIABLE, AFFORDABLE power!

This week, our plan to honor a local hero became law. The governor has now signed a bill honoring Master Sergeant Gregory T. Kuhse, ensuring his legacy will be permanently recognized in our community.

MSgt Kuhse served our country for 19 years and gave his life in Afghanistan in 2015. He was a leader, a mentor, and a man who always put others first. He was also a devoted husband and proud father.

The portion of US-131 between I-94 and Parkview Avenue in Kalamazoo County will soon stand as a daily reminder of his sacrifice.

I am grateful to his wife, Torri, and family for allowing us to help tell his story. His legacy will not be forgotten!

Last week, House Republicans delivered another responsible, taxpayer-first budget under my leadership, and we got it done the right way, smaller than last year’s.

We focused on actual spending, not the bloated, pork-filled budgets Democrats love. The result? $2 billion less in spending without making harmful cuts to core services.

We delivered $100 million more for our local roads, $10 million more for the public safety trust fund, and we solidified the Hall Universal Breakfast and Lunch in Schools plan (HUBS) so ALL students are fed healthy food and ready to learn.

We invested hundreds of millions in early literacy and early childhood education.

We are saving Medicaid by making sure it serves the people it was intended for, while rooting out fraud in the system.

We implemented a Trump-inspired reform for childcare: funding based on actual attendance, not just enrollment, ending the waste and abuse.

No new taxes. No new fees.

We eliminated 3,300 ghost employees and invested $300 million into the Rainy Day Fund to protect Michigan’s future.

This is what real leadership looks like: cutting waste, protecting priorities, and delivering for Michigan families without raising your taxes.

House Republicans are fighting for you everyday.
