🔥 Home Fire Sprinklers: Small Heads. Big Protection. 🔥

Did you know? A home fire can become life-threatening in less than 2 minutes. Home fire sprinklers are designed to respond quickly, controlling or extinguishing a fire before it spreads.

âś… Protect your family while they escape
âś… Reduce fire damage by up to 90%
âś… Use significantly less water than fire department hoses
✅ Operate individually—only the sprinkler closest to the fire activates

Home fire sprinklers work alongside smoke alarms to provide the best defense against fire. Together, they can save lives, protect property, and give families valuable time when every second counts.

🏠 Fire safety starts at home. Learn more about how home fire sprinklers can make your home safer.

📣This is National Code Enforcement Officers' Appreciation Week, and the City of Lansing would like to express its appreciation 👏 for its Code Enforcement Officer, Bill Linn, and its Building Inspector, Dan Stade. These two gentlemen are the ones to make sure our homes and businesses meet and maintain building, health, and safety codes. They:

Ensure community safety by enforcing fire, building, and general safety codes.

Protect our property investments by maintaining property values and preventing neighborhood blight.

Bridge gaps by connecting vulnerable residents with essential community resources.

If you see them out and about, please thank them for the work they do.

The International Code Council has a good article in the Building Safety Journal about what Code Enforcement Officers do and why it's important.

June 1 marks the first day of meteorological summer! While a few showers and storms may make it into central KS late tonight, the next three days should allow us to dry out after the past few days of widespread rain. Temperatures stay near to slightly above average, with highs in the 80s.
