Michigan Legislative Black Caucus

Michigan Legislative Black Caucus We work toward a MI that grants all its citizens equal access, equal justice and equal opportunity. Amos O’Neal, (D-Saginaw, 95th District), Treasurer
Rep.

The Black Caucus serves as a partnership between residents and legislators. Our members believe that legislators and residents can affect the most change by working in tandem. We sponsor events and programs around the state to make this partnership as productive as possible. The events allow legislators to share vital information and also serve as an opportunity for residents to express their opin

ions and concerns to the people who represent them. We invite you to join us as we work toward a Michigan that grants all its citizens equal access, equal justice and equal opportunity. MLBC Officers for the upcoming term (2021-2022) are as follows:

We call on the leadership of the Michigan Republican Party; its chair, officers, state legislative leaders, candidates, and affiliated organizations; to make their position unmistakably clear: Do you agree with these sentiments, or will you denounce them fully, promptly, and without qualification?

Anything short of an unequivocal rejection normalizes the unacceptable.

We’re deeply saddened by the passing of former Congresswoman and State Representative Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, a true Detroit trailblazer. She was a force of nature who carried our city’s hopes from the streets of Detroit to the halls of Congress, fighting fearlessly for justice, equity and opportunity. Her legacy continues to open doors for those of us who serve today.
