🌳 Park Spotlight: Adado Riverfront Park

We recently asked some of our Parks & Recreation team what their favorite City of Lansing park is, and one of our clerks shared a heartwarming pick: Adado Riverfront Park!

Her family loves spending time at the Michigan All-Inclusive Playground, a space designed so all kids can play, explore, and have fun together. They also enjoy the beautiful river views and the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere — a perfect place to unwind while the kids play, connect with others, and enjoy nature.
(And DoorDash pizza if you’re her family 😊)

Welcome autumn with a sumptuous three-course tea at the beautiful Turner-Dodge House on Saturday, September 26 at 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of delicious tea and treats accompanied by Hatt on classical guitar. After tea, step back in time with a guided historical tour of the house, featuring stories of Lansing’s “first families,” the Turners and Dodges.

The City of Lansing is hosting a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony to remember and honor those affected by September 11, 2001.

The ceremony will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:30 am in Wentworth Park, 100 N. Grand Ave.

Wednesday Nights at Schmidt Community Center 🏀
Join us for fun, active evenings all summer long!
Starting June 3 through September 30, we’re hosting drop-in activities every Wednesday at 6:30 PM:
• Drop-in Volleyball (Ages 18+)
• Drop-in Family Basketball (All ages – must be accompanied by an adult)
• Drop-in Game Room (Ages 18+)
💲 Cost: $3 per person (includes access to all activities)
Bring your friends, bring your family, and come enjoy a great night at the community center. No registration needed—just show up and play!
