COURT CLOSURE
⚠️This afternoon's thunderstorm has knocked out power in several locations throughout the area, including East Lansing City Hall and 54-B District Court, which are now closed for the rest of the day (Thursday, Sept. 3). Both are expected to reopen as normal tomorrow morning.
Stay away from downed power lines and call 911! Do not touch a downed power line or anything that line is touching. Then report the downed line to your service provider.
If you are a Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) customer, call (866) 710-8222 or visit https://www.lbwl.com/outagecenter to report a downed line or power outage. The website also features a live outage map.
East Lansing residents who have Consumers Energy as their electricity provider should call (800) 477-5050 to report a downed power line or visit https://www.consumersenergy.com/outages-and-safety/outage-center for power outages.
💚 Both the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, and the East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road, have power. Community members who need to charge a phone or escape the heat for some air conditioning are welcome at either location.
