Michigan is strengthening literacy from early childhood through K-12 — and bringing leaders together to help every child become a strong reader, writer, and communicator.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced the members of the new Every Child Reads Champions Council, bringing together leaders from education, business, philanthropy, community organizations, and tribal communities to champion Michigan’s literacy agenda and help build on the progress already underway.

State Superintendent Dr. Glenn Maleyko is honored to serve on the body.

Only 7% of Michigan public high school students participate in dual enrollment—even though students who earn college credit in high school are more likely to continue their education after graduation.
Michigan is working to change that.

Only 7% of Michigan public high school students participate in dual enrollment—even though students who earn college credit in high school are more likely to continue their education after graduation.

Michigan is working to change that.

The Michigan Dual Enrollment Task Force released recommendations to remove financial, eligibility and other barriers so more students can earn college credit before graduation.

Building on Michigan's $40 million FY27 investment in dual enrollment, the recommendations outline a path toward a more accessible, sustainable and consistent system for students across the state.
