🏮✨ The Art of Light: Chinese Lantern Painting & Asian Lantern Festivals

Join us at Lansing Community Library for a hands-on art workshop and cultural presentation with local artist Annie Sheng!

Explore the beauty and traditions of Asian lantern festivals and learn how lanterns bring people together to celebrate, gather, and light up the night. Annie will share her original lantern-inspired artwork and talk about lantern festivals in Asia and closer to home.

Then it’s your turn to get creative! Artists of all-ages can paint their own Chinese paper lantern using acrylic paints and create a one-of-a-kind design to take home.

We’re thrilled to showcase the work of the incredible artist, Yen Ospina! 🎨 Stop by the library and check out the exhibition, on display through the end of August on the lower level of the library. Don’t miss the chance to experience their work in person!

Self-taught artist Yen Ospina brings color-rich abstract, embroidery and digital works to the Lansing Community Library throughout August, inspired by Colombia, folklore and Ithaca’s arts community.
