Let’s put this to rest once and for all:

Many people who voted for Obama
*did* have a problem with it. Democrats are not a monolith, and they don't have a problem criticizing their leaders. We’re not in a cult.

That said, Democrats are not opposed to deportation (as evidenced by Obama's numbers). We just care that it’s done LEGALLY.

There’s a massive difference between targeted deportations that follow the rule of law, observe human rights, and focus on true criminality and what the 34x felon is doing.

Obama NEVER had “his” agents:

❌ Go door-to-door asking people to identify their neighbors of color.

❌ Crash into cars and abduct the driver.

❌ Break down doors of homes and enter without judicial warrants.

❌ Randomly stop people of color on the street and ask them for their papers.

❌ Violently attack and detain innocent bystanders (usually US citizens), claiming they’re “obstructing and impeding their work.”

President Obama followed the law.
Trump isn’t.

It’s not the deportation — it’s the process.

This is the day to remember the brave souls who answered the call of their nation and made the ultimate sacrifice so we could remain free.
But what are our obligations, those of us not in uniform, to protect and defend our democracy? What debt do we owe these honored dead? More than a cookout and a good time on an extended weekend me thinks.
Today, we should think long and hard about the sacrifices made to get us to America's 250th birthday this year. Enjoy the day. Then get ready to roll up your sleeves my friends. We've got a BIG to-do list to begin to pay down the debt owed to our forebears, especially those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Honor the fallen. But remember those who shouldn't have died
