For nearly two decades, workers at American Axle in Three Rivers have sacrificed to keep their company going. They deserve fair wages, strong benefits, job security, and a contract that reflects the billions in profits they’ve helped generate.

I stand in solidarity with UAW Local 2093 as they fight for a fair deal and urge American Axle to negotiate in good faith before the current contract expires on May 31.

This past week I had the pleasure of meeting the Michigan State University 2026 Glassen Scholar cohort. These dedicated students are the future of environmental conservation in Michigan, pursuing degrees and careers centered in natural resources policy, conservation, and environmental sustainability. Together we discussed many challenges and potential solutions facing Michigan’s treasured resources. Safe to say that the future of our States' great lands and waters is in good hands.

A safe home is a human right.

Today, my mobile home reform package passed the Senate with strong bipartisan support. This work has been a priority for me since a constituent first raised it at a coffee hour while I was serving in the Michigan House.

Every Michigander deserves safe, affordable housing, and protecting existing communities is a big step forward. Looking forward to continued support in the House and from the Governor.

May is Double Up Food Bucks Awareness Month, and I’m proud to continue supporting a program that helps Michigan families bring home more fresh fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers and food retailers.

I’ve championed Double Up throughout my time in the Michigan Senate because it’s a program that delivers real results for families, farmers, and communities across Michigan.

There’s even more good news this year: shoppers can now earn up to $50 per day in Double Up Food Bucks, more than double the previous daily limit. Frozen fruits and vegetables with no added salt, sugar, or oil are also now eligible, giving families more flexibility while helping reduce food waste. Learn more at link in comments/bio.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, stepmoms, grandmas, and mother figures who do so much for their families every single day.

I especially want to thank my wife, Teresa, who is an amazing mom to our two kids. Serving in the state legislature comes with a lot of long hours, late nights, and missed time at home, and our family handles that because of everything she does behind the scenes. I’m incredibly grateful for her love, patience, and support, not just today, but every day. Happy Mother’s Day!

Proud of all the work we’ve done to help move this bipartisan manufactured housing package forward. This legislation has been years in the making, shaped through conversations with residents, advocates, responsible park owners, and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

Manufactured housing communities are home to so many Michigan families, seniors, veterans, and working people, and they deserve stability, fairness, and protections that reflect that reality. I’m glad to see this package take real steps toward addressing issues residents have raised for years while also supporting responsible community owners.

Looking forward to seeing this signed into law and continuing the work to better protect mobile home residents and owners across Michigan.

A six-bill package has been introduced in the state Senate which aims to overhaul Michigan's manufactured housing laws for the first time in nearly 40 years.

On May Day, I was proud to walk the picket line at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital and stand with the nurses from Teamsters Local 332 who have been on strike for 8 months.

Nurses deserve safe staffing, fair treatment, and respect for the critical care they provide our community every day. I came out to listen, connect, and make clear: I stand with workers. Full stop.

I was honored to be included in the Community Baby Shower at the Flint Farmers' Market yesterday, celebrating the enrollment of the 2,000th patient in SOS Maternity in Michigan Network. Thank you to the organizers and partners for making sure Flint families feel supported as they prepare to welcome new babies.
