Michigan families deserve affordable, reliable childcare.

I’m proud to see the Michigan Senate pass legislation to make childcare more affordable by expanding and codifying the Tri-Share program, which splits childcare costs between employers, the state, and families. The package also supports childcare providers by tying reimbursement rates to inflation and reducing unnecessary barriers to opening and operating childcare centers.

This is a meaningful step toward helping working families, strengthening our workforce, and ensuring children have access to quality care. Now the legislation moves to the House for consideration.

Today was a meaningful day of reflection and gratitude as we honored the brave men and women who fought, served, and made the ultimate sacrifice in protection of our freedoms. I was truly honored to join the Dearborn community for its annual parade and to stand together in remembrance of those whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire our nation. 🇺🇸

Last week, we held a press conference in support of Senate Bills 927 & 928, which would increase access to emergency transportation for those experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

Incredibly proud to co-sponsor this important legislation. Thank you to my colleague State Senator Mark Huizenga for leading this bipartisan effort!

For those in mental health crises, available resources may they often have to wait for an ambulance or police car.

Thank you to LAHC for recognizing me as a leader in our community and the achievements driven by the community!
