Greater Lansing congratulates teen Treasurer, Aleya Travis. She is a proud senior at Grand Ledge High School, dual-enrolled in the Health Technology program at Lansing Community College. She is the daughter of Mr. Abel Travis and Dr. Alexis Travis and has been a member of Jack and Jill for seven years. Aleya is a four-year record holding varsity track athlete, demonstrating dedication, perseverance, and teamwork. She serves as Vice President of her school’s Black Student Union and is an active member of the National Honors Society.
Within the Greater Lansing Jack and Jill Chapter, she previously held the role of Foundation Chair from 2023–2024 and currently serves as Treasurer, continuing her passion for community impact and leadership. Aleya plans to attend Stony Brook University, where she will major in nursing. Her most recent achievements include receiving the Presidential Scholarship from Stony Brook University and the Remarkable Futures Scholarship from Chick-fil-a in recognition for her leadership, community service and academic success. She aspires to become a nurse and later specialize in anesthesiology. Aleya volunteers in the children’s ministry at her church, attended the 2025 National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scholars program, and has had the opportunity to travel to the seven continents of the world.
