After receiving many offers from Lansing residents to produce homemade masks, Mayor Andy Schor today announced that the City of Lansing will provide drop-off locations for homemade masks. Donated masks will be distributed to first responders, healthcare workers, homeless shelters and others that work with vulnerable populations.

The City of Lansing’s monthly Mobile Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Tabernacle of David (2645 W. Holmes Rd. Lansing, MI) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. while supplies last. The City of Lansing’s Human Relations and Community Services Department has worked closely with the Greater Lansing Food Bank to ensure that the Mobile Food Pantry will run as usual with additional precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Protective Measures:
•The Mobile Food Pantry will be a “drive-through” service.
•Families will not go into the church to congregate.
•Volunteers will put premade boxes of food into cars.
•Volunteers will complete paper registration near the car.
•Necessary traffic control will be implemented.
