Congratulations to Deputy Chief Scott Bailey on his retirement from the Lansing Police Department after 28 years of service. He served as a Patrol Officer, Paramedic, Detective, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Community Policing Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Detective Lieutenant, and Deputy Chief of Field Services.

His roles around the PD included just about everything. However, what he will be remembered by most is how well everyone liked him. He was and is one of the nicest and most caring person you will ever meet. He helped create a culture in the PD that encouraged community involvement and looking out for one another.

We wish you the best in the next chapter in your life and hope you can spend more time with your family and working on your golf game.

Do you know me?

I was picked up when I scared someone on the 17000 block of Waterford Dr. He called the Lansing Illinois Police Department (708) 895-7150, to come and get me. I am actually a very friendly dog, I think maybe the man just didn’t like that I was in his yard. Unfortunately, I have no signs of ownership so we have to reach out here for information to help me get home. If you know anything about me, please call LPD right away. Thank you!

I was picked up this weekend after someone said they saw me being abandoned. I am glad that Lansing Illinois Police Department (708) 895-7150, cane to pick me up though. I am a very friendly dog, but sadly, I have no signs of ownership. If you know where I came from please call LPD. Thank you.

Do you know me?

I was seeking sanctuary at the church on 176th and Wentworth when lo and behold a savior did arrive! Lansing Illinois Police Department (708) 895-7150, sent their ACO to come and pick me up. I am very timid, and a bit fractious so I won’t let him scan me for a chip and I have no signs of ownership. I have been posted a lot in local lost and found groups here on Facebook though, so I am hoping for another miracle. If you have any information about where I belong, please contact LPD so that I can get home. Thank you!

Officers from Lansing, as well as our partners across the State, will be conducting increased enforcement surrounding the Independence Day holiday, through July 6th. The focus is on the “Fatal Four” - Impaired Driving, Speeding, Distracted Driving and Occupant Protection. Help celebrate America’s 250th Birthday safely!

PUPDATE: Dog returned to owner

Do you know me?

I thought I had found my way home and I was trying to get back into the yard near 178th and Wildwood when Lansing Illinois Police Department (708) 895-7150 came to help. It turns out that was not actually my home. That’s okay though. The ACO said he could bring me back and try to get me home from there. I have a collar but no chip or tags.
