September 3- A friendly reminder. Remember these days?? Recovery isn’t always fun, exciting, puppies and sunshine… it can get exhausting, boring, lonely, uneventful… but, think of the trade off…. Sometimes finding gratitude in days when it isn’t easy, it is a little boring, it brings some difficulties- we can be grateful we are not having to go through the things we once did. Today, we find gratitude in just appreciating what we DO HAVE and letting that be enough. 💜

Hi Everyone- I just wanted to share a little piece of recovery for day 2. Sometimes it’s not even about the substances- it’s recovery from surviving, recovery from chronic mental health conditions, depression, anxiety, PTSD, toxic relationships, trauma, recovery from behaviors that we struggle to let go of, and learning how to not just survive but learn to LIVE again. Recovery is more than just stopping the drug or alcohol use- it’s changing the patterns, the behaviors, the people, places, things, and undoing years of patterns that we thought were coping, only to find out we were merely existing. There’s so much more to life…. Let’s get some recovery and find meaningful ways to LIVE!!

Take a step back in time and learn the history of sober living. Written by Aaron Emerson, this gives a full picture of the makings of how sober living began. Very interesting and informative. Another example of why we continue to provide this much needed service to people who need it for stability, safety and to have an opportunity at success in recovery. Thank you Aaron for writing this and sharing your insights and information. 💜
