The renovations and security upgrades made over the past year to this treasured park in are a great example of elected officials at all levels working together to put our taxpayer dollars to good use right here at home. We worked to pass a budget that helps offset some of the real hurt Michiganders are experiencing from Republicans’ tariffs, healthcare cuts, and the Iran war. I also secured funds for priorities including significant capital, infrastructure, and revitalization projects.

I was honored to celebrate this moment that changed the world as part of Midland’s recitation and ceremonial signing of our Declaration of Independence. 🇺🇸

Did you know our current 50 star flag was designed by one of Saginaw’s own? At this morning’s flag raising ceremony, I had the honor of sharing Bob Heft’s story and presenting his nephew Ryan with a flag flown at our State Capitol.

Bob’s story is about more than a flag. It’s about vision, determination, and believing in yourself even when others may doubt you. That sounds like to me.
