Congratulations to New Life Baptist Ministries and everyone who helped bring the Dr. Rufus Bradley Sr. Mission In The City Community Park & Welcome Center from a vision to reality.

As Pastor Craig Tatum said, this is much more than a facility. It’s hope and opportunity made possible by people who believe that our community members — from youth to seniors — are worth it. A very positive step toward revitalizing Saginaw’s East Side.

As a veteran, first responder, and proud union member, I believe in having each other’s backs and looking out for one another. In my new committee roles, I’ll draw on 30 years of public service to support our servicemembers, first responders, workers, and their families; cut red tape for small businesses; and ensure safer, smoother roads and bridges for everyone.

Their service and courage will never be forgotten. On this Memorial Day, we reflect on their legacy and recommit ourselves to serving our communities with purpose and unity.

ABC12 News: Greene plans to work on finalizing a state budget that prioritizes increased public safety funding and free school meals, lower housing, grocery and health care costs, and support for Michigan's veterans.

"I am heading to Lansing to represent all three counties and people of all political parties equally and will keep a constant connection between the Capitol and the district," Greene said.

Democrat Chedrick Greene took the oath of office to represent the 35th District State Senate seat more than 500 days after it became vacant.
