Today my bill HB 6285 along with Mike Hoadley - State Representative bill HB 6284 was introduced today which would repeal Michigan's Ban on Short Barrel Rifles (SBR), Short Barrel Shotguns (SBS) and Suppressors/Mufflers. Under existing law those are only legal if they are federally registered.

Due to the recent Federal Court Ruling the Federal Registration has the potential to be struck down therefore criminalizing law abiding gun owners who no longer are able to obtain federal registration if struck down.

Read more about our bill below:

State Reps. James DeSana and Mike Hoadley today introduced a legislative package to repeal Michigan’s outdated, stand-alone criminal prohibitions on short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and suppressors, protecting law-abiding gun owners from potential felony liability if federal require...

As one of the original Bill sponsors with Representative Jason Morgan, MI State Representative Donavan McKinney, and State Representative Dylan Wegela of Money out of Politics, I voted no because I signed a pledge to not stop it from appearing on the November 2026 ballot. A yes vote would’ve betrayed my commitment to the people of Michigan.

Proud to stand with Dearborn’s community and faith leaders last night. Outside agitators don’t represent our state. The people of Dearborn are hardworking, law-abiding Michiganders, and that’s the truth that matters.

Tonight, I will join Dearborn business and community leaders to promote peace, safety, and respect ahead of scheduled demonstrations.

Everyone has the right to be heard, but violence, intimidation, and disruption have no place in our communities.

We can protect free speech, support local businesses and residents, and keep our communities safe.

Yesterday I was proud to join Romulus Mayor Robert A. McCraight to announce the Airport Community Roads Act (HB 6115).

This legislation would triple road funding for Michigan cities with international airports, ensuring these communities receive the infrastructure investment they deserve. Airport communities shoulder the burden of heavy commercial traffic and serve as critical transportation hubs for our entire state. It’s time our funding reflected that reality.

Thank you to Mayor Robert McCraight for standing with me in support of this common-sense legislation. Together, we’re fighting to deliver safer roads and stronger infrastructure for the communities that keep Michigan connected.

Michigan farmers grow some of the best food in the nation. Why not put more of it on our students’ lunch trays?

Should Michigan schools serve fresh meals sourced from local farmers?

Comment YES or NO below and tell me why.

Fresh food. Strong farms. Strong communities.

I want to hear what you think. ⬇️

Your tax dollars. Your right to know where they go.

For too long, Lansing has operated in the shadows making backroom deals and spending your hard-earned money without accountability. That ends now.

I’m fighting to pull back the curtain on state government and make sure every dollar spent is one you can see, track, and question. Because when politicians stop answering to the people, the people stop being free.

Watch the video and share it with every Michigan taxpayer you know. It’s time Lansing starts working FOR you not around you.

Transparency isn’t radical. It’s your right.
