Last week while moving the Tardis Public Food Pantry, I realized how dusty it had gotten due to the construction on Michigan Ave. So today, she got a bath. :)

I kept hearing that little whooshing sound like a purr (or maybe that's just my tinnitus).

There are some items in there now, if anyone is in need. I'll drop some things in later as well. Located at the back entrance of Everybody Reads, Books and Stuff. Please provide what you can, and take what you need.

We just stocked up the Tardis with some baked goods and frozen pizzas picked up from today's food rescue. Come grab them quick so they don't thaw out!

Thanks to partnerships with businesses with Target, Panera, Breadsmith, Groovy Donuts we get food donations EVERY week to distribute to pantries in our area, to distribute at the Harm Reduction Hub and during our weekend distros. We also have benefited from LARGE food donations twice in the past year from MSU thanks to a friend making the connection for us.. we appreciate each and every one of these connections, each week it ensures that we can get items like fresh produce, dairy, bread and snacks to people..
That being said, there's still always a need, if you have a connection with a business that would be willing to help out by donating day olds, or items that aren't "shelf worthy" but still fresh or if your group, org or business would be willing to have a donation drive for items for food pantries like the Tardis, the Fledge or the many others we help to stock, or if you just have the ability to help by shopping for yummy food for the pantries, that would be awesome, please reach out, do what you can

Someone messaged us and said they had a lot of non expired nonperishable foods to donate after the passing of a loved one. We picked up 2 shopping carts full worth of dried and canned goods today and stocked up the Tardis as well as the pantry at Pilgrim Church and still have some leftover to restock later. Thank you for the donation and may the memory of your loved one be a blessing.

Wow. It was 4 years ago today that the Tardis Public Food Pantry began to be born.

We weren't quite sure how this would all work out. We had a vision. Will people see that same vision? Will people be good stewards and fulfill that vision? Yes. We started this venture with a goal of fostering a more compassionate society. A food share that is 24 hours, no questions. The community sharing that makes us a community. Give what you can, take what you need.

This community, this compassion and the overwhelming response to ensuring this food share, is beautiful. It truly brings a tear to my eye knowing, seeing, what this box has done over the years. YOU are the heart of the Tardis. The love that radiates every time that door opens is incredible.

Thank you to the entire Punks With Lunch Lansing crew as well. This would have never happened without the everlasting support of the members of this group. From brainstorm, to build, to blessing the box with food to share, and upkeep along the way, you've been there ensuring this project persists. My heart will forever be grateful for the things each and every one of you do. 💛
