September is library card sign-up month. With a library card, you can access information, entertainment, and resources all for FREE! At the Lansdowne Library, we waive the replacement fee for cards during September (they normally cost $3 to replace)).

Want to make your library card really sing? This Library Card Sign Up Month, get the most out of your card by creating a PIN. Your PIN is the key to viewing your account online, using the DelcoReads app, and accessing some library resources. The Melody Circle is back!

This is a music appreciation program for patrons of all ages. We have a healthy supply of instruments for you to explore and records that you can listen to. If you have your own music you'd like to listen to, we'll throw it on our record player and enjoy it together.

The Haunted Library returns Friday, October 23! This year, our haunted library is inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology. You must journey through the underworld where you will come face to face with spirits, gods, and monsters. Tickets are $3 and must be purchased at the event. The haunted library is recommended for ages 7 and up.

At the same time, join in Halloween festivities outside the library where there will be games, music, food, storytelling, and lots of treats. The Halloween Fair portion is free and open to all ages. Concessions will be sold by the Friends of the Lansdowne Public Library .

Can you solve the mysteries of Atlantis and find the lost treasure? Sign up for our Tomb Explorer escape room to find out! Register for a 45 minute session on Friday the 28th or Saturday the 29th. Match artifacts, reconstruct the language of Atlantis, and more in this adventure for the whole family.

The library now has Team Up to Clean Up Kits available for checkout. These kits are offered in partnership with Delaware County Office of Sustainability.
Each Litter Kit includes: 2 litter grabbers, 2 safety vests, 2 trash bags, and 1 pack of wipes.

If you missed Saturday's event or came after all the spots had filled up, no worries! We are working on planning more sewing and mending workshops at the library, so stay tuned.

Come celebrate the end of our summer reading program! We've been unearthing all kinds of stories for the last few months, and we're going to put them on display! We'll have our petroglyphs, pasta paleontology pieces and others available to view in a gallery tour.

In addition, we'll have one more story to uncover. Author Ona Gritz will be on hand to do some readings from her book "If You Find This Letter." This story deals with a mysterious letter unearthed in a curiosity shop.

Since it's been such a hot summer we're going to have water ice available to cool you down.

Programs like this would not be possible without the generous support of The Friends of the Lansdowne Public Library. Their dedication to providing reading and learning opportunities to youth is immense.
