25 years. That’s a really hard thing to wrap my head around.

For those of us who were in New York that day, September 11th is something we carry with us. But in so many ways, it changed all of our lives forever—no matter where we were.

Today, I’m thinking about the thousands of lives lost, the families who were forever changed, and the first responders and everyday people who showed incredible courage when it mattered most.

25 years later, we remember. We honor them. And we will never forget. 🇺🇸

Happy Labor Day, Lansdowne! 🇺🇸

Labor Day has its roots in the labor movement, when workers and unions came together to fight for fair pay, safer workplaces, reasonable hours, and a voice at work. It became a federal holiday in 1894.

Here in Lansdowne, there are so many people who work hard every day to keep our community going — borough employees, teachers, first responders, small business owners, tradespeople, healthcare workers, union members, commuters, and so many others.

So today, whether you’re working or enjoying a day off, I hope you get a little time to relax and enjoy it. And maybe take a moment to appreciate the people who help make Lansdowne the community we love.

Went out for a walk on Scottdale Road today to get my steps in and ran into the wonderful folks from Qui’s Lumaureia! 😂❤️

They’re at the Pavilion at Hoffman Park TODAY giving away school supplies and connecting families with community resources. 🎒📚

Even better, the founder is a Lansdowne resident! I love seeing our neighbors finding ways to help our community. ❤️
