North Penn Water Authority

North Penn Water Authority A dedicated, professional workforce committed to providing the community with a safe, reliable, and economic water supply.

North Penn Water Authority is a municipally owned, non-profit Authority with a ten member volunteer Board of Directors. Board members are appointed to a five year term by their member municipalities. It is the responsibility of each member of the Board of Directors to represent their communities’ interest in the running and operation of NPWA. Board meetings are held once per month and are open to

the public. The most important duty of NPWA is to provide the public with a safe and reliable supply of drinking water. Our employees, many of whom are NPWA customers themselves, take pride in being able to provide this service to the community. What started out as a small water utility serving 7,000 customers in 7 municipalities has grown to one providing water to over 36,000 customers in 21 municipalities. There have been many changes over the decades, but one thing has remained the same. NPWA is committed to bringing our customers a safe, reliable, and economical water supply now and into the future. WE ARE A WEF AWARD FINALIST!

We are incredibly excited and honored to share that our collaborative internship program has been named a finalist for the 2026 Water Environment Federation (WEF) Public Communication & Outreach Program Award!

Our nomination recognizes our Water and Wastewater Internship Program (WWIP) — an initiative created to introduce people to the water and wastewater industry and help inspire the next generation of water professionals.

To have this work recognized by WEF, a leading organization in the water environment profession, is a tremendous honor for our entire team.

Being named a finalist is an honor. Being able to help shape the future of our industry is the real reward.

Wish us luck as we head to WEFTEC 2026!

Each year, WEF proudly presents awards recognizing the hard work and dedication it takes to protect one of the world's most valuable resources. As each set of awards is announced this summer they will be added to this page.

📚 It's back to school week for the remaining kiddos still holding on to summer!
Aim for an A+ in hydration this year and always pack a refillable water bottle to stay alert and ready to learn.

As always, if you need a water bottle, stop by our office and we'd be happy to provide you one of our stainless steel water bottles.

Wishing all students and teachers a great year!

Out with the old, in with the new!
This hydrant from the 1970s served Leon Drive in Hatfield Township well. The new one is ready for duty if needed!

Did you know the top (bonnet) in the yellow color signifies an 8 inch water main beneath? 💦
