I've forgiven Alex Otti, I pray for him says Ikpeazu..Charges Christians to trust in God

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has declared that he has forgiven his opponent, Dr Alex Otti of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and those he said failed to look at the size of his God, instead looking at him, thinking he won't be governor.

Governor Ikpeazu said this in Enugu State when he addressed members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, at Enugu Conference headquarters at Asata in Enugu.

He said that his being a governor is an act of God, stressing that he had no connection to become governor. He stressed that no man will take the glory due to God for his governorship, and promises that he will continue to testify what God can do, and give hope to he hopeless.

His words: "My opponent were busy looking at me, looking at my size, knowing that there was no money in my account, and failed to see the see the size of my God. They also forgot that money and wealth belong to God.

"Let me use this opportunity to say publicly and openly that I have forgiven those who thought I won't be governor. I've forgiven them, including my brother and opponent, Alex Otti, I have forgiven him and I pray for him every day.

Both Ikpeazu and Alex Otti are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Speaking further on his political aspiration that culminated into his becoming governor, Governor Ikpeazu said: "This is the first election I've contested for an elective office in my life, and it was not an easy one, but because God has said that it will be, I became governor.

"In the past, I tried to contest election as elected local government chairman of Obingwa, somewhere along the line in that my quest, the powers that be in Abia then said that I won't be, instead that appointed one of my PAs and forced him on us. They said that I will not only step down for him, that I should also lead his campaign to be chairman.

"For me, I concluded that God didn't want me to chairman of council, and unknown to me that God has prepared me for the governorship of Abia.

"My strength is from God, and God proved Himself as God. I had everything going for me even during my campaigns. When I came out for governorship, people said I don't have money, therefore I will abandon the project halfway.

"They are right, I don't boast of any money and didn't have any to boast of, but I didn't borrow a dime to run for my campaign, God provided all the money and other resources that I needed to run my campaigns.

"My brothers, sisters and friends, including those I don't know, contributed their money for my campaign. Some of these I don't know them, I didn't sign any agreement or undertaken with them. Their contribution to my campaign was voluntarily. Free of charge. This is why I keep saying that my being a governor is a divine project. If God could do it for me, he will do it for you."

Governor Ikpeazu who appealed to members of the Church to always look up to God and trust only in Him, said: "even as Governor, my prayer everyday is God, not my will, let Your will be done".
