Public Notice Concerning the East Palestine, Ohio Railway Accident and its effects on leading Creeks Conservancy Districts Water User Customers.
Below is the link to Ohio EPA's current response. Also note that LCCD has 4, 60-foot wells that are drilled into the old riverbed which is called the Ohio Valley Aquafer. Our wells are approximately 2,000 feet away from the river and 60 feet below it. This aquafer is actually the old riverbed that flows under and near the current river. Any contamination that is in the Ohio River would be hard pressed to filter into the Ohio Valley aquafer since the Ohio River has layers of silt at the bottom. I will keep this post updated if there is any significant change. At this we time we do not see this as a threat to our customer's water supply. if there is any change at all we will issue public statements.

Thank you.

We have recently updated our leak insurance policies. Leaks are very expensive for us and especially for you the customer.
We have no gimmicks or hidden agendas concerning our leak insurance. In the past when customers had large leaks they had up to nine months to a year to pay them off. We have found this too much of a financial burden for our customers and it usually ends up with either upset customers which lead to harsh words or bad relationships between us all.
Leading Creek is a state entity but we do not receive any funding from the state to stay in operation. We solely depend on our customers to pay the water bills which keeps the water system operating. With this said we need every meter service that we can get in order to keep the bills paid.
So, with all that said we came up with a better plan for leak insurance, that would benefit both of us.
Basically, if you purchase leak insurance once a year for $30.00 it will give you the following benefits:
Automatically give you $300.00 in your leak account, which can stack up to 7 years or $2100.00, Whichever comes first.
If your leak is over your current leak account balance then we will add $25.00 extra to your water bill until it is paid off. Each year, if renewed you will receive again another $300.00 coverage into your leak account.
We really, really, encourage you to be part of our leak insurance program. It will help both of us in the long run and prevent so many problems.
You can reach our office at (740)742-2411 or email us [email protected] to set up a leak insurance account.

Thank you so much for reading and have a blessed day.
